We work in small teams, often with the aid of development partners, to iteratively deliver progressively improving and comprehensive solutions that meet the needs and goals of our clients.
We won't ramble on here: we employ current yet proven technical approaches -- agile development practices, with an emphasis on Scrum. Our projects revolve around time-boxed iterations/sprints with strong product owner guidance (in client engagements, we expect our client to represent here). Unlike many agile shops, we can characterize our iterations based on an effort's macroscopic state -- to support this we employ RUP-inspired inception and elaboration iterations as needed before getting into construction iterations.
We at 430 Mobile are big fans of the teachings of Pragmatic Marketing® and actively use the Pragmatic Marketing Framework™ when researching, designing, delivering, supporting and enhancing our products. The tools and techniques in the framework allow us to be better messengers of the marketplace and speak with the voice of the customer when building our product specifications and ultimately our complete products. We like to build out user and company personas to guide our design and we continue to use those persona’s to resolve questions and design tradeoff’s on a daily basis in the development and testing phases of our process. Through our iterative product development process we use select pieces of the Pragmatic Marketing Framework™ to structure many of the tasks in an iteration to ensure the product stays in alignment with the users needs, and ensure that when the product is released it solves the real problems of our client and the market.
Mobile development does not limit itself to what runs on mobile devices. For most significant business applications, there is almost certainly a significant set of services that reside on servers. Additionally, in an attempt to bring the best qualified team to provide a solution, we work closely with partners to ensure the right talent contributes to the right components of the solution. For example, our partner, 5AM Solutions offers deep life science and healthcare vertical know-how as well as a successful track record of delivering sophisticated, multi-tiered J2EE web applications.
